Abruzzo is situated in central Italy and this allows you to travel within few hours to Rome, Naples, Florence, Bologna, Perugia, Ascoli Piceno, Tremiti Islands, The Gargano, Le Marche, Molise. The Apennines mountains and the four national parks account for most of the territory of Abruzzo. With over a third of its land protected by law, Abruzzo has the largest national parks and reserves in Europe and is known asthe 'region of parks'. The highest point of the Apennines in Abruzzo are the Corno Grande (2912m), Monte Amaro (2793m) and the mountains of Laga (2458m). The Abruzzo coastline stretches for 150km along the Adriatic sea where beaches vary from the white sandy to the rocky. Abruzzo is a land to be discovered, a kaleidoscopic region with historical towns, national parks, thermal baths, beaches, archaeological sites, caves, lakes and peaks on one hand, and food, wine, local products, extra virgin olive oil, folk festivities, traditional handicrafts and goldsmith's art on the other. Another attractive incentive for potential buyers is that unlike other European destinations, Abruzzo offers 365-day-a-year tourism: beaches, mountains, ski-resorts, thermal baths, golf courses, horse riding, lakes, food and history. Abruzzo used to be relatively unknown but now the flights from London Stanstead, Frankfurt Hahn, Brussel-Charleroi and Paris C. De Gaulle to Pescara, the main city in Abruzzo, have had and enormous impact on tourism in the region. Abruzzo is increasing in popularity as an alternative to Tuscany and tourists are realizing that it may have more to offer than other traditional Italian and European holiday destinations. The price of property is much lower than Tuscany or Umbria. Houses in Abruzzo can be purchased from just 35.000 ,000 Euro. Abruzzo has a very wide variety of landscapes and consequently there are many different types of houses available.
